EMMA Amsterdam & Noy Textile

In 2018, I co-founded EMMA Amsterdam, a sustainable clothing brand with a bold vision to revolutionize the textile industry in exploring the topic of sustainability in textile deeper. By combining sustainable design with innovative business models, EMMA reimagined the future of textiles and promoted conscious consumerism. Our aim was "to give people back their faces", as in valuing the producers work in acknowledging and seeing them. And "to give textiles back their value" in using recycled materials.

As EMMA Amsterdam developed, we encountered limitations with local production partners in meeting our sustainability goals. This challenge inspired the creation of Noy Textile, our own production facility in Istanbul, run by two trusted friends and collaborators. Noy Textile was born to uphold the highest standards of innovation, transparency, and sustainability, enabling us to address the environmental and social challenges of textile production more directly.

During the pandemic, we partnered up friends in Srinagar and Ladakh, the home to the world's famous cashmere. We co-created a cashmere product to see it on this side of the world to support the local community, who lost their work over night.

Together, EMMA Amsterdam and Noy Textile embody a shared commitment to disrupting traditional practices and inspiring meaningful transformation across the industry. #friendsonamission
